Field of Activity

Amatera is a non-GMO platform to optimize variety improvement of long-maturation plants. Focusing initially on coffee plants, the company aims to develop the first naturally decaffeinated Coffea arabica, thus eliminating the need for polluting, chemical decaffeination processes.

BACKGROUND

Amatera is the brainchild of Omar Dekkiche, an agriculture-impassioned engineer, and Lucie Kriegshauser, a CNRS then Inrae-trained plant biologist, who met during an Entrepreneur First program.

DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCTS / SERVICES / TECHNOLOGY

Via a genetic but non-GMO approach, we are developing the first-ever naturally caffeine-free Coffea arabica and other varieties resistant to climate change.
