A summer school for computational genomics

Bioinformatic and Biostatistical Tools in Medical Genomics is an international “summer school” training event open to all researchers, engineers and PhD students looking to develop or deepen competencies in computational genomics.
Training is delivered in the form of conferences given by international experts, roundtables and practical workshops.
The three to four-day event is held at a campus agreeably situated on the Seine riverside. Each year brings a new scientific program to address the expectations of the participants.

Shaker: from the idea to the project

The Shaker program is a great opportunity for those who have an innovative idea in biotech (health, environment, agritech/foodtech, bioindustry, etc.). The laureates are integrated within the biocluster where they can refine their projects thanks to the resources made available to them (lab space, the Biotech Lab, access to shared-use platforms and cutting-edge technologies, etc.) while also receiving an introduction to entrepreneurship and personalized accompaniment by Genopole’s project managers.
The six-month objectives of the shaker are to:

  • bring the technology to successful laboratory testing,
  • develop a pitch for investors, and
  • construct a business project.

Gene.iO: to fund and structure

The Gene.iO is for early-stage biotech start-ups. It is a business-oriented accompaniment program entirely dedicated to biotechnological innovation (health, environment agritech/foodtech, bioindustry, etc.).
The program helps its laureates refine their business competencies (direction and management, elaboration of business models, finding funding, business pitches, intellectual property protection, etc.) and comprises a 360° audit to identify their start-ups’ strengths and weaknesses.
The laureates also gain access to personalized consulting, a complete training program and the Open Lab (shared offices and labs).

The one-year objectives of the Gene.iO are to:

  • consolidate the start-up business plan, and
  • carry out a successful initial fund raising campaign.
