The VERY Food Co. (”VERY”) is a French start-up with the ambition to change the way we eat and cook, towards a more sustainable and resilient food system. VERY’s mission is to help Food Industry and Food Service to replace egg products and dairy ingredients with ready-to-use and affordable plant-based ingredients, without compromising on functionality and taste.

Food Industry and Food Service, special focus on pastry, bakery and viennoiserie. We have developed 2 products and industrialized one product in 2022. Selected by the EIT FAN program (European Community) and the GENE.IO program (Genopole).

COLLABORATIONS SOUGHT
Network of supporters along the value chain from academic expertise (i. e. INRAE) to ingredient suppliers (leguminous, flavors…) and renown chefs (pastry, general…).

    Strengths
    Natural ingredients enhanced by science. No artificial additives.
    The focus is on replacing the functionality of eggs and dairy products, no “mimicking”, no “gimmicks”. We only replace what is necessary (e.g. we focus on powdered ingredients because that is where the functionality lies). Ingredients designed for professional use – it works. Products that enable customers to make a tasty transition to a more sustainable plant-based diet.
    A strong and complementary founding team.
    A scale-up mindset – delivering it all in industrial volumes at comparable prices.

    Innovation assets
    Powered by science and technology, VERY studies the properties of plants down to their molecular profiles and molecular interactions, in order to produce innovative (but still natural!) products that replace the desired functions of egg products and dairy ingredients. These products rely on science and technology to find the optimal combination of molecules to provide food with the targeted functional, organoleptic and nutritional qualities.

    We are raising 1M EUR equity to become a European leader in plant-based ingredients replacing the functionality of egg products and dairy ingredients for the food manufacturing industry.
