Host:
CEA-Genoscope / UMR 8030 Laboratoire d’Analyses Bio-informatiques en Génomique et Métabolisme (LABGeM)

Supervisors:
The platform is integrated with the metabolic Genomic UMR (UMR 8030) whose supervisors are CEA, the CNRS and the University of Evry – Paris-Saclay.

The platform is integrated with national infrastructures in life sciences France Génomique and Institut Français de Bio-informatique. The platform is also integrated with the European ELIXIR infrastructure.

Certification

ISO 9001 & NFX50-900LABGeM received ISO 9001:2008 and NF-X 50-900 certifications for its research, development and services activities via the MicroScope platform.

Field of activity

The MicroScope platform is an integrative resource that supports systematic and efficient revision of microbial genome annotation, data management and comparative analysis.

Activities

  • Development of tools for the annotation and comparative analysis of bacterial genomes and metabolism.
  • Organization and management of genomic and metabolic data in database structures.
  • Prediction and analysis of bacterial genome metabolic networks and models.
  • NGS data analysis: projects in evolution (polymorphisms) and transcriptomics (RNA-seq).
  • Development of user-friendly Web interfaces for the use of expert analysis and annotation tools (MaGe, Magnifying Genomes).
  • An internationally-scaled genomics data analysis service for the microbiology community.
  • Training for annotation, genomic and metabolic comparative analysis and transcriptome data analysis with the MaGe interface.

Equipments

  • Locally, the MicroScope platform is mutualized within the IT infrastructure of Genoscope: 700 processor cores/1 petaoctet of storage.
  • Access to the CEA supercomputing center located in Bruyères-le-Châtel (CCRT): 4000 processor cores and 5 petaoctets of storage made available for the France Génomique national network of platforms.

Training

The LABGeM offers to MicroScope users regular training sessions organized in collaboration with Evry University:

  • “Annotation and analysis of prokaryotic genomes using the MicroScope platform”: this 4.5 days training course is aimed at presenting the functionalities of the Microscope platform to the new users. It includes 1 day fully dedicated to bacterial metabolism analyses, exploration and annotation. This training is proposed twice a year in spring and autumn.
  • “MicroScope platform – Advanced course”: this 2 days training course is aimed at presenting the last developments of the MicroScope platform to users who have followed a MicroScope training a few years ago. It is proposed once a year.
