Field of activity

The platform has the equipment, infrastructure and expertise necessary for the experimental exposure (irradiation) of biological and non-biological material to radiation.

Irradiation of biological material.

Examples of use:

  • Preparation of feeder cell layers for stem cell culture.
  • Evaluation of the use of stem cells in cell therapy.
  • Fundamental studies of the damage caused by gamma radiation.
  • Identification of mechanisms in radiation-induced cancer.
  • Personalized medicine: genomics of radiosensitive cohorts.

EQUIPMENT

  • One irradiation room with a Flaxitron MultiRad 350; doses: 1 to 140 Gy/min.
  • One L2 preparation room (CO2 incubator, PSM, centrifuge, microscope, water bath, refrigerator and freezer).
  • Digital PCR for RNA quantification in biological samples.

ACCESS

The irradiator is accessible to the public and private scientific community.
