Research & development for an in vitro diagnostic tool for endometriosis
Background
EndoGene.Bio is the result of two women uniting their competencies: Maria Teresa Perez Zaballos, doctor in medical devices and ex portfolio expansion manager at Merck, and Madeleine Moscatelli, doctor in epigenetics. Their shared objective is to improve the management of women’s diseases. As a first mission, they are developing a method to diagnose endometriosis rapidly and efficaciously.
Description of the Products / Services / Technology
Despite affecting one woman in ten, it can take up to seven years to correctly identify endometriosis because of a lack of reliable and specific diagnostics. EndoGene.Bio seeks to change that by developing a diagnostic tool based on epigenetic biomarkers in menstrual blood samples that patients can take themselves in the comfort of their own homes.
Customer references / Collaborations / Highlights
EndoGene.Bio obtained a pre-seed investment from the start-up accelerator Entrepreneur First and has partnered with two hospitals to validate its proof of concept.
A seed funding campaign is also underway.
