Mathematics and applications.

– Développement d’outils mathématiques pour l’analyse de séquences biologiques (chaînes de Markov) et de réseaux génomiques
– Analyse de données d’expression et de SNP

LaMME covers a broad range of research in mathematics and its applications structured across three teams:

  • Analysis and PDE.
  • Probabilities and Financial Mathematics.
  • Statistics and Genomes (S&G).

Particularly, the S&G team focuses its activities on the:

  • conceptualization of statistical methods for the analysis of DNA or protein sequences and for the study of associated molecular expression,
  • and the availability of these methods for the biology community via web-based technologies.

The major research orientations are:

  • statistical inference in genomic networks (interaction, regulation, metabolic pathways), based on data obtained from a range of experimental conditions or on dynamic data;
  • analysis of genome data to identify genes involved in disease causation (analysis of single nucleotide polymorphisms) and the study of gene expression mechanisms over time (Markov models, etc.);
  • study of gene associations, support for automated annotation via massive sequence comparisons;
  • transposable elements;
  • study of the evolution of protein sequences;
  • and the analysis of transcriptome/proteome data.

    • Numerous scientific collaborations with laboratories in France and abroad. At Évry:

    • CNRGH.
    • Scientific contracts with industrial partners (Bioptimize, Carpe Aeam, Scor, LCH, Zeliade, Crédit Agricole), most of which appertain to the fulfillment of CIFRE theses.
    • Contract “Big Data for Real-Time Macroeconomics”, involving three companies (Crédit Agricole, Quant Cube, Terra NIS) and three laboratories (SAMOVAR, LAMA, LaMME).
