Algenscribe develops molecular biology tools designed to significantly increase the efficiency of gene replacement (insertion of a therapeutic gene into its native locus), which remains one of the major bottlenecks in gene editing. The platform also improves the quality of gene editing.

Background

The company was founded to translate to human health — therapeutics and bioproduction — the technologies originally developed by Algentech for other fields.

Algenscribe’s platform finds applications in gene and cell therapy (including oncology) as well as bioproduction.
The company is currently focused on R&D activities, with several ongoing application driven ex vivo proofs of concept mainly through collaborations with academics and foundations in France and abroard (US and UK).
